17 participants from the Nanikaai community proudly received their certificates after completing the 13-week Live More Abundantly program.

Adventist Wellness Director, Mrs Teera Katarake says a few participants were unable to complete the full course due to illness or other reasons, but they will continue their sessions until they finish the program.

In a special celebration hosted by the participants, they showcased their new skills by preparing a variety of nutritious, plant-based dishes made from locally available ingredients. The menu featured vegetarian options such as roulru, bamba, dhal soup, and gluten-based meals like chop suey and curry. Other dishes included pumpkin soup, kangkong, boiled breadfruit, sweet potatoes, eggplant curry, and grilled eggplant with coconut cream and onion, alongside a selection of fresh, healthy salads. The event’s only beverage—plain water—surprised and intrigued the invited guests.

The ceremony culminated with the awarding of certificates, speeches and reflections from the graduates who expressed gratitude and looking forward to more training sessions in the futures.

In addition, the graduates made an important commitment to the community, offering to share their knowledge through food demonstrations and provide support to those affected by non-communicable diseases (NCDs). They are eager to continue educating and promoting healthier lifestyles in Kiribati.

The event marked a significant step forward in advancing health and wellness across the community.
