Korobu, Kiribati – This Sabbath, the Korobu Seventh-Day Adventist Church hosted a heartfelt ceremony to mark the end of the first quarter of 2025. More than 40 church members participated in the ceremonial Footwashing and the Lord’s Supper led by the Kiribati Mission President, Pastor Taabua Rokeatau.
The atmosphere was filled with reverence as members gathered in the church for the special Sabbath service. The footwashing ritual, a symbolic act of humility and service, saw members of the congregation washing each other's feet in a display of love, unity, and spiritual renewal.

Pastor Rokeatau, with the assistance of church Elders and Deacons, guided the congregation through this profound tradition, echoing Christ’s example of servant leadership.
Following the footwashing ceremony, the Lord’s Supper was observed, further deepening the spiritual significance of the day. The bread and wine, representing the body and blood of Christ, were shared among the congregation, creating a sense of communion and collective remembrance of the sacrifice made for humanity.
As the service concluded, the church members walked around offering handshakes and congratulations to one another. Each greeting served as a reminder of the spiritual journey they had just completed in the first quarter of the year.
With smiles and words of encouragement, members shared their readiness to enter the second quarter of 2025 with renewed faith and commitment.
“We are reminded of the importance of knowing Jesus personally. said Pastor Taabua Rokeatau." Pr Rokeatau drew an example from the two disciples meeting with Jesus on the road to Emmaus who had been with Jesus for long but never knew Him.
This special service at Korobu SDA Church not only celebrated the end of the first quarter but also set a spiritual tone for the months ahead. It was a beautiful reminder of the community’s shared commitment to walk together in faith, humility, and love.
